The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) is a regulation which replaces the Data Protection Regulation (Directive 95/46/EC) The Regulation aims to harmonise data protection legislation across EU member states, enhancing privacy rights for individuals and providing a strict framework within which commercial organisations can legally operate. Who are Elson Search Limited and what do we do?

Elson Search Limited are a recruitment agency and recruitment business as defined in the Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 (our business). We will use your personal information in the following circumstances, and we collect the personal data of the following types of people to allow us to undertake our business:

  • Prospective and placed candidates for permanent roles.

  • Prospective and live client contacts.

  • Supplier contacts to support our services.

  • Employees.

 

Elson Search Limited collects information about you to carry out our core business and ancillary activities.

 

How do Elson Search Limited collect your information?

This is information about you that you give Elson Search Limited by filling in forms on our website or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. It includes information you provide when you register to use our site, apply for a role we have advertised, subscribe to our services, participate in discussion boards or other social media functions on our website or give us a referral. The information you give to Elson Search Limited, or we collect about you may include your name, address, private and corporate e-mail address and phone number, financial information, compliance documentation and references verifying your qualifications and experience and your right to work, curriculum vitae and photograph, links to your professional profiles available in the public domain e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, business Facebook, CV library platforms or corporate website.

 

There are two main ways in which we collect candidate/client data:

  • Directly from you.

  • From third parties such as candidates/clients, online job boards, LinkedIn, and networking.

 

Submitted Data

By submitting data via Elson Search Limited’s web forms, you consent to us using and storing your data for the purposes of finding you a position or representing you as a client. If you would like to be removed from our database of candidates/clients, please email Elson Search Limited at data@elsonsearch.com.

 

Your legal rights

By law, you have several rights when it comes to your Personal Data. Further information and advice about your rights can be obtained from the Information Commissioner’s Office. The GDPR provides you with the following rights:

 

  1. The right to be informed

    1. You have the right to be provided with clear, transparent, and easily understandable information about how we use your information and your rights. Therefore, we’re providing you with the information in this Policy.

  2. The right of access            

    1. You have the right to obtain access to your information (if we’re processing it), and certain other information (like that provided in this Privacy Policy). This is so you’re aware and can check that we’re using your information in accordance with data protection law.

    1. You are entitled to have your information corrected if it’s inaccurate or incomplete.

  4. The right to erasure         

    1. This is also known as ‘the right to be forgotten’ and, in simple terms, enables you to request the deletion or removal of your information where there’s no compelling reason for us to keep using it. This is not a general right to erasure; there are exceptions.

  5. The right to restrict processing   

    1. You have rights to ‘block’ or suppress further use of your information. When processing is restricted, we can still store your information, but may not use it further. We keep lists of people who have asked for further use of their information to be ‘blocked’ to make sure the restriction is respected in future.

  6. The right to object to processing              

    1. You have the right to object to certain types of processing, including processing for direct marketing (i.e., if you no longer want to be contacted with potential opportunities).

  7. The right to lodge a complaint   

    1. You have the right to lodge a complaint about the way we handle or process your personal data with the ICO https://ico.org.uk/

  8. The right to withdraw consent   

    1. If you do grant consent, please note you can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing data@elsonsearch.com. Please note that all processing of your personal data will cease once you have withdrawn consent, but this will not affect any personal data that has already been processed prior to this point. Please allow up to 14 days to process

 

Security

All the personal data Elson Search Limited holds about you will be processed by our staff in the United Kingdom. We take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is processed securely and prevent unauthorised access to, and misuse of your personal data. We limit access to your personal data to those who have a genuine business need to know it.

 

Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
